Just one week left until Halloween! Here's a simple project you can use to scare some friends and family.
Cut out two pieces of aluminum foil. Place one on top of the door (on the hinge side) and the other on the door frame. Place them so that they are not touching while the door is closed, but will touch when the door opens.
Use this as a switch to trigger whatever you want when the door opens.
In the example image above I've connected an active buzzer that will sound a loud beep when the door is opened to illustrate the concept.
But you can easily swap out the buzzer with something more scary, like a car horn, a spooky laugh (from a sound module), or a spring-loaded skeleton that jumps out as soon as the door opens.
Keep On Soldering!
